Colin Roberts - Mens Captain 2009

Born in Southport and educated at Churchtown Junior School and Stanley Secondary School.

Has one daughter, Karen.

At 19 years of age joined Southport Borough Police and due to amalgamations also served in Lancashire Constabulary and Merseyside Police, until retiring in 1995.

During Police career represented Southport, Lancashire and Merseyside in Lifesaving Competitions and continues to swim for exercise.

Has always had an interest in sport in general and golf in particular, and joined Hesketh Golf Club in 1997.

Is very proud to have been selected to represent Hesketh Golf Club as Captain and is currently playing off a handicap of 18.

 

 

Derek T Holden - Honorary Life President

Elected as an Honorary member in 1990, Derek served on Council for 15 years and as Chairman of the club for 5 years

He was elected President of the Lancashire Union of Golf Clubs in 1997-1998 and has served on their Executive ever since.

The Captain introduced our new President to the members present at the club dinner on Tuesday 23rd May 2006.

Educated at Norwood Primary Schooland Southport High School for girls.

Had a career in Banking and Secretarial work upon leaving college.

Married to Roy for 50 years with two children, Joanna & Grahame. She is a proud Grandmother of three

Grahame is a member of Hesketh Golf Club and Joanna a member of Hillside.

Cynthia has a Tennis playing and Musical & Theatrical background enjoying many years in Amateur Dramatics playing numerous lead roles. She is a past Club Captain of Sphynx Tennis Club.

She has always been proud to be a member of Hesketh Golf Club, her lowest handicap being 15 now playing off 23.

Her ambition is to reduce her handicap this year which is her 27th year as a member.
