Buggy Rental Terms & Conditions

Please read the following carefully and sign the declaration at the Pro Shop before your round to show you accept the Terms and Conditions and will adhere to the safety instructions for your own and the safety of others.

1) The Hirer(s) must observe the rules and regulations of the course.

2) The Hirer(s) will be expected to drive the buggy in a responsible manner at all times in respect of their own safety, the safety of their passengers and the safety of all other people on the golf course and site.

3) The Hirer(s) must hold a valid driving licence

4) Only the signatories may be in control of the buggy at any time.

5) The buggy will only be used to carry a maximum of two persons and two golf bags at any one time.

6) The Hirer(s) will stay within the bounds of the course at all times other than when taking great care to cross Fleetwood Road to the 3rd and14th tees or to and from the Practice Ground.

7) The Hirer(s) will report any damage or fault on the buggy or damage to the course or surrounding properties immediately when the buggy is returned. Failure to do so could compromise the Renter(s) future right to hire.

8) The Hirer(s) will be liable for any damage caused to or by the buggy as a result of negligent operation. Failure to abide by any of these rules will be deemed negligent.

9) Buggy keys should be returned promptly to the Pro Shop at the end of the round. If the Pro Shop is closed for any reason the keys must be returned to the bar staff. Failure to return the key will result in a charge for replacement.

10) Hesketh Golf Club do not accept any liability or responsibility for injury, damage or loss to persons or belongings during the period of hire or whilst on the premises.

11) The Hirer(s) confirm they are over 18 years of age and have not consumed any alcohol prior to or during the period of hire. Please remember that you have to cross a main road on the buggy and could be liable for prosecution in the event of an accident.

12) The Club reserve the right to terminate the hiring of the buggy at any point where these rules are abused.

Health & Safety Assessment Instructions for Buggy Users

Rules for all holes

In the interests of Buggy User Health and Safety there are areas of the golf course where the use of buggies must be avoided (e.g. dangerous slopes, uneven ground, close proximity to water, boggy ground).

  • Never ride across a slope

On all holes the following applies:

  • Do not take the buggy beyond the first cut of rough
  • Do not take the buggy into the rough as there could be uneven ground and unseen hazards.
  • At all times use pathways that are provided
  • Do not speed especially on uneven fairways
  • Do not drive on tees
  • Do not drive on greens, fringes or approaches
  • Always keep behind line of play
  • Operation of the buggy is at the owner’s risk
  • The Hesketh Golf Club is not responsible for any damage to the buggy

Anyone not abiding by these rules will be asked to leave the course immediately

Hole No. 1

  • Buggies must initially enter the course from the service road between the yellow posts and then follow the pathway from the tee.
  • Keep to the centre of the fairway and follow the raised path to the left of the green park on the left hand side of the green.

Hole No. 2

  • Carry on following the pathway from the 1st green and park below the left hand side of the 2nd Tee.
  • Walk to the Tee using the pathway or the steps at the rear of the tee.
  •  Follow the pathway from the tee and park on the right hand side of the green.
  • Do not attempt to take the buggy up the slope to the green – walk to the green using the pathway.

Hole No. 3

  • Follow the pathway from the second green going behind the 14th yellow tee to the road crossing.
  • Take care crossing Fleetwood Road. Please use the mirrors to check the road is clear.
  • Park on the pathway, left hand side of the 3rd tee.
  • Carry on down the centre of the fairway and park on the right hand side of the green.
  • When approaching the green take care, as the 4th tee is fairly close to the 3rd green.

Hole No. 4

  • Park on the pathway situated on the right hand side of the tee as viewed when playing the hole.
  • Follow the pathway to the green do not leave the pathway.
  • Take care when moving from the tee as other golfers could be coming up the 3rd fairway.
  • Park on the pathway situated adjacent to the green, then walk to the green.

Hole No. 5

  • Follow the pathway from the 4th green and park next to the 5th tee.
  • Follow the pathway over the bank on the right side only (Note : this bank is a public footpath).
  • The sleepers may be slippery when wet so take great care when riding up and down the slopes.
  • Park on the right hand side of the green.

Hole No. 6

  • Follow path around and park near the front of the tee.
  • Follow right hand side of fairway and park on the right hand side of the green.

Hole No. 7

  • Park the buggy on the left hand side of the tee.
  • If required, walk to the Medal tee.
  • Park on the left hand side of the green.

Hole No. 8

  • Follow the pathway to the tee. (Note : this bank is a public footpath).
  • Park the buggy on the right hand side of the tee.
  • Park the buggy on the left hand side of the green keeping well away from the 9th tee.

Hole No. 9

  • Move the buggy from the 8th green and park it on the left hand side of the 9th tee.
  • Take care when returning to the buggy as other golfers could be coming up the 8th fairway.
  • Park the buggy on the left hand side of the green.

Hole No. 10

  • Follow the pathway and park the buggy adjacent to the ladies tee.
  • Walk to the men’s tee and medal tees.
  • Park the buggy on the right hand side of the green.

Hole No. 11

  • Follow pathway to the right hand side of the tee.
  • Park the buggy on the right hand side of the tee.
  • Park buggy on the left hand side of the green.

Hole No. 12

  • Follow the pathway to the tee and park on the right hand side.
  • Drive either side of the mounds in the fairway not over them. Beware pond on right side.
  • Park short of the right hand side of the green.
  • Use the path off to the right of the green do not drive over the mounds.

Hole No. 13

  • Follow the pathway to the tee and park the buggy just before the tee.
  • Beware ditch just in front of Ladies tee.
  • Cross the ditch at the culvert at the far end of the ditch  – do not use the sleeper bridges.
  • Park on the right hand side of the green on the pathway.

Hole No. 14

  • Take care crossing Fleetwood Road.
  • Follow pathway to the right hand side of the tee and park.
  • Keep to the left hand side of the fairway, at the bunkers follow trolleys signs to the left around bunkers on the pathway.
  • Park on the left hand side of the green.

Hole No. 15

  • Follow pathway and park near the ladies tee.
  • Walk to the men’s tee and medal tee.
  • Drive on the red shale path to the right of the hill – do not drive left of the hill.
  • Take pathway to right 30 yards before the green.
  • Park on pathway near the green.

Hole No. 16

  • Do not approach the 16th tee until it is clear.
  • Leave the buggy near the 15th green and walk to the 16th tee.
  • Follow pathway and turn right up the first path on to the road and park on the path to the 17th tee.
  • Beware of traffic on the road at all times.

Hole No. 17

  • From the 16th follow the pathway up over the hill to the 17th tee parking on the right hand side.
  • Park on the left hand side of the green.

Hole No. 18

  • Follow pathway and park on the right hand side of the tee.
  • Follow trolley path on the right hand side of the fairway parking on the right hand side short of the green.
  • Exit the course via the yellow posts into the lower level car park.
