I hope my emails continue to find you well.
I am pleased to update the membership on a number of changes that will come into effect from tomorrow, Thursday 28th May.
Before detailing the changes, I must add that all changes and our protocols are under constant review and further changes or revisions may need to be implemented at short notice. Members will be informed of all changes or revisions.
Driving Range / Practice Ground
Facility to reopen as a Practice Ground on Thursday 28th May.
Members to use their own balls.
All balls must be clearly marked by the member to assist collection.
The club provided Driving Range facility to remain closed.
A maximum of 6 members at a time to use the facility.
All play must be from the designated hitting areas, as defined with tee blocks. No play is allowed from outside of these areas.
Short Game Area to open w/c 8th June – further details to be released nearer the time.
As a safety measure, hitting to be undertaken in 25-minute time slots.
Balls to be collected by all users on the Hour and Half Hour.
All users to collect balls at the same time, whilst maintaining social distancing.
Members may use the facility as much as they wish, whilst maintaining fair usage.
Please do not make other members wait excessively.
Halfway House Washroom Facility
From Thursday 28th May the Toilet facility facing the 9th Green will be utilised as a Unisex facility. The traditional Gents Toilet will remain closed.
The door lock code remains 6345
A Hand Sanitiser dispenser will be located on the outside of the facility, with ALL users required to sanitise before entry. This is vital.
Flushable / disposable toilet seat covers will be made available for those wishing to use them.
Multiple signs will be installed reminding members of the vital importance of good practice whilst using the facility.
Electronically dispensed soap, running water and hand towels will always be available. Members will be asked to press the tap button with their elbow.
The hand dryer has been turned off for safety reasons. Please use paper towels.
A large pedal bin will be installed to further reduce the number of touch points.
Disposable Gloves, Blue Paper Roll and a Sanitising Spray will always be available. This is primarily for staff to clean the facility, but is available for members to use should they wish. Appropriate H&S instructions will be provided for any member wishing to use the Sanitising Spray.
Members are asked to ensure the facility is left in a clean and safe manner for the next user.
Myself and Peter McVicar will perform a daily check of the facilities at 14:00 each day, ensuring all consumables are well stocked and the general hygiene is maintained.
Peter McVicar will then perform a daily clean and locking of the facility in the evening using suitable PPE and cleaning equipment.
A review of the working of the facility will be made, at least every 3 days and amendments implemented as soon as possible if required.
Buggies for Medical Requirements
From Thursday 28th May, the use of Club Buggies by those members with Medical requirements will be reinstated.
The use of Buggies is for those members with genuine medical or disability requirements, meaning that golf would not be possible without one.
Only the Member requiring the buggy will be allowed to ride in the buggy.
Members are to contact Peter McVicar directly on 07506940432 or firstname.lastname@example.org to book a buggy.
Following use, the buggy will be sanitised with a sanitising spray and thoroughly washed down.
Members requiring a buggy, are advised to bring their own hand sanitiser for use whilst in the buggy.
Play from the Bunkers will be permitted again from Thursday 28th May.
All rakes have been removed from the course, on direction from the R&A and governing bodies.
Members are asked to rake the bunker with their foot or club and to leave them in the best possible condition for the next golfer.
Whilst we remain in social golf, members are advised to continue to play the ball as it lies, or lift and place the ball no nearer the hole within one club length. Ultimately it is up to the player to decide upon what action to take for now, that will assist them to enjoy their round.
The clubs Greenkeepers will rake all bunkers on a Tuesday morning.
The clubs Artisans will rake all bunkers on a Saturday morning.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this email. All guidelines and protocols are under constant review and changes or revisions may be implemented at short notice if required.
Member co-operation is vital in ensuring these services remain in place and are not rescinded once again.
